Have you tried to contact noc123 who is the author of that plugin at MyBB.com?

I never have looked at this plugin before.

From what i can see you must have included another table column in the template or a bad floating division...

if your template use the search in that side, so i think the plugin will open in that side, no?

how is your template before install? the search is there or just appear here?
